Book Project Submissions: Search & Reunion

We are excited to announce that Nanchang Project is working to self-publish a book! Our vision for the book is to shed light on the Chinese adoptee search and reunion experience. Over successive trips to China and networking with locals, we have compiled stories and quotes from birth families. We are now preparing a book which will bridge the gap between adoptees and birth families through a selection of work submitted by the adoptee community accompanied by the thoughts and stories of birth families. This final work will be available to purchase with the proceeds going towards the operations of The Nanchang Project, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Topics:

Your experience with origins searching and/or reunion as a Chinese adoptee. This can include taking a DNA test, thinking about your relatives and where you came from, considering a birth family search, visiting your finding spot/orphanage/foster family, searching for birth family, finding biological relatives, or another topic related to search or reunion. See submission ideas here.

Types of content accepted:

Personal quotes, memoir/reflection pieces, essays, poems, artwork, illustrations, & photography
