To date, Nanchang Project has made over 64 DNA matches. Our spreadsheet of tested Chinese families is temporarily unavailable as we are working to update our internal database of all the birth families we have registered. Please check back again later! We will update this page once the spreadsheet is ready.
How to match with these families:
DNA testing is a must to confirm a biological relationship. Simply submit your DNA to the databases listed in the spreadsheet. Our birth relatives are currently in GEDmatch and Help For Family Reunion (HFFR). You can find information about these databases on our DNA Testing page. On our Resources page, we have a GEDmatch guide that walks you through interpreting your results as well as links with instructions for how to download your raw data for upload to other autosomal (SNP) databases. All new birth families tested with Nanchang Project will be added to GEDmatch.
Know a potential birth relative who needs to be DNA tested?
Please contact us and one of our volunteers can mail a free Chinese-based DNA test to any place in China. All matches made through Nanchang Project have always been free and will continue to be. We believe finances should never prevent a reunion. Reach out to us to schedule a DNA kit to be sent to your Chinese contact.
