Customized Calligraphy

A Fundraiser for Nanchang Project’s Hunan Search Trip

 

Digitally designed by a talented Chinese adoptee hailing from Hunan, China, these calligraphy pieces feature stunning hand-drawn backgrounds customizable with your Chinese name (2 or 3 characters)! Each piece’s background has a textured appearance and a Nanchang Project stamp resembling our signature red logo. We are offering these art pieces in digital formats; you will receive both a downloadable file for an 8.5” x 11” print (300 dpi) as well as a file suitable for use as a phone wallpaper. What you do with your calligraphy is up to you! Personally, we think it would look lovely printed and framed as a decorative piece.

Much thanks to the generosity of our volunteer artist Taylor DePetris, all donations raised through this calligraphy fundraiser will go directly towards Nanchang Project’s upcoming Spring 2024 trip to Hunan province, where we will visit 2-3 areas of Hunan to search for birth families. Any families found who wish to find their lost child(ren) will be offered a free DNA test, each one costing our organization approximately $120 USD. You may read more about this trip here.

Approximate funds needed for our Hunan search trip:

  • Flights for our team to get to and from China = $3,600 USD

  • Hotel rooms for our team (12 nights) = $2,025 USD

  • Guides/Interpreters = $1,200 USD

  • Meals for our team = $1,375 USD

  • In-country transportation = $550 USD

  • Printed flyers = $250 USD

Artist Spotlight

Taylor DePetris

Taylor is an adoptee from Hunan, China, and was raised in the mid-west of the United States. She grew up around art and creativity which eventually led to her day job as a 3D designer at an advertising agency. Outside of work she enjoys playing with her pup Terra Bear, learning to crochet, and simply draw. In 2022, she started volunteering her illustration skills to China Children’s International for their social content. Now she is expanding those talents to The Nanchang Project as a Graphic Designer. Taylor hopes to continue to make beautiful work that helps spread awareness for adoptees as we search for our connected roots.

Delivery:

Your digital calligraphy will be emailed to the email address you entered on the Order Form. Orders will be fulfilled in the order in which they are received. Our artist is a volunteer! Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.
