DEAR BIRTH FAMILY

you left me
in front of
a hospital
i don’t know why
was it because
you couldn’t
care for me?
was it because
you already
had a child-
and i a sibling?
too many
mouths to feed?
could be
the worst thing
could be
the best thing
depends on
perspective
reasons aside
you breathed life
into me
half a world away
whether i find you
or not
i will love you
always
