who am i?
chinese-american
but where’s the chinese
apart from looks?
as i grew up
i struggled
with being
different
finally felt right
in california
there i saw
people like me
who taught me
about my heritage
it wasn’t until i had to leave
that i realized how
big a part being
chinese-american
played in my sense of identity
